Metrosport

Metrosport.gr is a dynamic sports portal with a continuous news flow and high demands on content, speed, and commercial functionality. At DontMatter, we handled the design and development of the platform, building it on PostRDR, our own custom CMS for news portals and content-heavy environments.

The main design choice was organizing the desktop layout into three distinct columns. The main news content stays centered, while advertising placements and supplementary information sit on the sides. This way, the portal's commercial function is supported without constantly interrupting the reading flow.

The clear hierarchy helps users focus on the news and navigate more comfortably within an environment carrying a large volume of information. At the same time, it creates the right spots for advertising and additional content, without the different elements competing with each other for the visitor's attention.

On the technical side, PostRDR lets the editorial team manage and publish large volumes of content in real time. Particular emphasis was placed on loading speed, responsive behavior, and the platform's stable operation, so it can effectively handle continuous news activity and periods of increased traffic.

The result is a modern sports portal that balances news coverage, advertising, and user experience. The three-column structure, the custom technical implementation, and PostRDR create a functional environment both for readers and for the editorial team's day-to-day work.
